Barry Coffey
Singer-Songwriter from the Heart of Ireland
Born and raised in Mullingar, Ireland, Barry Coffey is a seasoned country musician with over 30 years of experience on stage and in the studio. From his earliest days, Barry was drawn to the sounds of American Country Music—so much so that he imported CDs from the U.S. long before they were readily available in Ireland. His passion eventually led him across the Atlantic multiple times to Nashville, where he soaked up the live performances of his heroes.
Barry has played in numerous bands over the years, including the popular Whiskey River Band, Tennessee Breakdown Band both based out of Mullingar and more recently with Trevor Smith & Friends in Low Places—Europe’s leading Garth Brooks Tribute Show, with whom he still tours regularly as their steel guitar player.
Deeply influenced by legendary artists such as Alan Jackson, Montgomery Gentry, Brooks & Dunn, and Merle Haggard, Barry brings a classic yet personal touch to everything he plays. After more than two decades of songwriting behind him he is releasing his new single “Looking Up”—a heartfelt track co-written with award-winning songwriter Jane McNamee from Edenderry.
Produced by David Arkins at Darkins Studio in County Meath, the song features a stellar lineup of world-class musicians, including David Arkins (lead guitar, acoustic guitar & bass), Brent Mason (lead guitar), Gary Morse (steel guitar), Jonathan Owens (drums), Damien McGeehan (fiddle), and Danny Young (backing vocals), among others.
With authenticity at his core and a lifelong love for country music, Barry Coffey is proud to share his music with a wider audience—one song at a time.
